In this workshop Gary will suggest methods to get the emergent writer to actually write, not think about writing. He will focus particularly on the use of the writer’s journal, encouraging new writers to gather research materials for their novel using handwritten notes, photographs, drawings, maps, newspaper clippings, song lyrics (and the like), and entering such documents into a fascinating and detailed writer’s journal which will serve as the basis for his or her novel. Questions are welcome. Bring a lap top, paper and pencil, an open mind and a big smile.
